When we met Adam and Viola, i.e. the caretakers of the Family Children’s Home from Bydgoszcz, and above all these wonderful kids, we knew that our cooperation would last for years. And so it was, because this Family Children’s Home is unlike any other. Here there is love, understanding, mutual respect, but also proper rules. Adam and Viola are doing everything to provide the best for their children, in fact, at the expense of their own lives. One day they abandoned their professional work and fully dedicated themselves to helping children.
The Family Children’s Home in Bydgoszcz houses about a dozen wards. About, because caregivers can’t refuse to help when there is a need to add more children, including for a shorter time. It’s a full-time “job,” although in this case it’s not enough, and the word “job” is not quite adequate. To understand how they sacrifice for their charges, you need to spend a minimum of several hours with them. However, they derive extraordinary satisfaction from it. The children also reciprocated and loved Viola and Adam. Love unconditional and mutual.
Our Foundation spent days and even weeks with them. We organized many trips for them: to the Tricity, Warsaw, Poznan, Zakopane or the Energylandia amusement park. With the support of our friends or sponsors, we also showed them the pleasant aspects of life: beautiful hotels, spectacular sports and cultural events, delicious food in restaurants. All the time, however, we explain to them that in order to live at such a level, you have to take the right path and put in a lot of work.
The children also liked us a lot, if not loved us. These are often young people who come from very difficult families, and the stories of some of them are horrifying. Today they are wonderful, smiling young people who have dreams and see the light at the end of the tunnel. And we are happy to add at least a small contribution to it.
