K2 YOUNG STARS is a charity event for children and teenagers between the ages of 4-14. During one day, we wanted to show them different sports, and they were encouraged by big stars.
During the first edition, held in Warsaw’s Bialoleka district, trainers included. Aleksandra Miroslaw (world record holder in time climbing), Katarzyna Dulnik (European vice-champion in basketball) or Norbert Huber (volleyball Olympic vice-champion, Champions League winner). On the other hand, in the second edition with Cukrownia Żnin were Marcin Krzywicki (former Polish national soccer player), Agnieszka Szott (one of the best Polish basketball players ever) and Kacper Piechocki and Robert Milczarek (former Polish national volleyball players).
The aim of the first edition was not only to promote sports among children and young people, but first and foremost to support Henio Maciocha, who suffers from neuroblastoma, one of the most malignant cancers in children. The cost needed for Henia’s rescue is about 1.5 million zlotys.Throughout the day, parents could throw money into cans specially prepared for Henia. Interestingly, also some children threw in their savings. It was really a beautiful picture,” says Lukasz Zaborowski.
In Warsaw, after a joint training session and an autograph and photo session, it was time for the Basketball Star Game, which was attended by coaches and many invited guests known from the front pages of newspapers. Among others, they were with us. Szymon Czerwiński (winner of “Masterchef”), Maksym Ziolkowski, Adrian Gorzycki (well-known youtubers), Aleksandra Gajewska (former basketball player), Marcin Wrzosek (MMA fighter, former KSW champion, now in FAME MMA), rappers Kali, Janusz Walczuk and Frank Leen, and the entire event, in addition to “Kacpa” was hosted by Łukasz “Juras” Jurkowski (former MMA fighter, today presenter and commentator of Polsat Sport).
For the second edition, on the other hand, we took advantage of the brilliant infrastructure of the Żnin Sugar Factory Hotel. The weather was good, so Piechocki and Milczarek did water scooter rides for all those who wanted, Krzywicki still played ball with the participants, and parents could relax on the shore of the beautiful lake.
